Problema ao abrir pagina em PHP

Pessoal, Bom dia...
estou tento um pequeno problema, instalei o PHP5, agora... na hora que vou tentar abrir uma Pagina em PHP que esta na maquina maquina... em vez de abir ele pede para fazer o Download... o que pode ser, ?

Obs... ja fui no httpd.conf e coloquei isso:

DirectoryIndex index.html index.phtml index.php3 index.php

na conf do apache vc tem umas linhas onde diz:

"AddType Apllication x-http/html" ou algo assim certo?!
tem de adicionar o seguinte:
"AddType Application x-php .php"
penso que é assim, nao sei se a sintaxe está correcta, mas o seu probelma deve-se a faltar esta linha

cara tente adicionar isso no teu httpd.conf

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps

e veja tbm dentro dos modulos do apache se possui lah o modulo do php que é libphp5.so

Então... tentei encontrar o libphp5.so e não encontrei olha os parametros que utilzei para compilar o PHP..
./configure --with-openssl --with-postgres --enable-dba --with-pear --with-pdo-pgsql=//usr/local/pgsql/data/ --with-gd --enable-soap --enable-pcntl --enable-ftp --enable-dbase --enable-calendar --enable-exif --prefix=/usr/local --with-config-file-path=/var/www/conf --with-ssl --with-fastcgi --enable-fastcgi --with-zlib-dir --enable-gd-native-ttf --with-gnu-ld=yes --with-sapdb --enable-so

Acho que faltou um parâmetro no seu configure:

--with-apxs2=$APACHE_HOME/bin/apxs

Seria isso ?

Como você passou o parâmetro ?
Aqui, no meu caso, passei assim: --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
Que é o caminho absoluto pra minha instalação do apache

O apache foi compilado com a opção citada ?

como faço para ver se o Perl esta instalado ?
o Apache esta instalado com a Instalação do Fedora, como sei que se estara com essa opção --enable-so (the apxs usage page is displayed)

Veja com o comando:

rpm -qa | grep -i perl

Ou:

perl --help

Pra saber se o apache está compilado com esta opção:

apachectl -l
