problema com VSFTPD - ñ acessa mais

meu servidor de FTP não está mais rodando...
dou os seguintes comandos:
# ftp localhost
ftp: connect: Connection refused
e
# service vsftpd status
%{base} morto mas o subsistema está trancado

alguém poderia me ajudar nesse caso.

Estou começando a mexer com linux e estou encontrando essa dificuldade.

Começou bem. Andei testando o VSFTPD e eu achei incrível a facilidade que ele trabalha. Embora ele seja um pouco mais simples do que o WU-FTPD e o PROFTPD, é extremamente seguro e não roda por meio do XINETD ou INETD (Se tu quiser, tu roda, mas ele roda como daemon...). Sem falar que ele é muito mais fácil de trabalhar do que os outros servidores.

Enfim, chega de lero-lero.

Tente iniciar o serviço com um:

# tail -f /var/log/vsftpd.log

Rodando...

estou tendo o mesmo problema com o vsftpd, ja tentei dar o comando #tail citado acima porem ele não acha o Log.

o q pode estar ocorrendo?
