madwifi gentoo

Tenho os seguintes problemas com o madwifi, instalei pelo emerge configurei tudo direitinho mas quando faco iwlist scan aparece um warning e quando faco wpa... mostra aqueles N/A. Alguem tem uma atheros ou que me possa ajudar?
Preciso mesmo ja que estou sem net, pk so tenho wireless.obrigado
