Estou muito curioso em usar o Ubuntu, já li em vários lugares que ele é ótimo. Bom sem mais delongas vou falar o meu problema.
Estou tentando instalar o ubuntu 9.10 no meu NB aspire 5738 (core 2 duo 2.0, 3gb ddr3, 320HD etc...), porém quando eu dou o boot pelo cd e escolho a opção de Instalar fica uma tela preta e não aparece mais nada, já deixei um tempo e nada.

Assim peço que me ajudem a instalar para poder desfrutar desse novo mundo _o/

e ainda não descobri o que acontece...
Bom o cenário é o seguinte:
- O meu Ubuntu é 8.10 e está instalado num hd IDE primaria (40GB) com 512 Ram;
- a minha internet é 3GOi (por isso usei uma configuraçaõ de criação com --dhcp e deu certo até naquele ponto do log);
- ele instalou o xen legal mais nao cria a imagem.

A minha dúvida afinal é se é possível criar a partir do cd (live-cd) como faria no Virtual-Box ou VMWare? porque não sei é a internet mas nao vai.

Tenho vários pacotes DEB criado por mim com softwares que tive que compilar na unha e gostaria de disponibiliza-los para todo mundo bastando apenas adicionar meu server na sources.list e baixar o pacote deb com o apt. Qualquer outro tipo de conexão não dá problema (ethernet, modem 3G). Alguem tem alguma idéia?
