Utilizar resolução de (1400x1050) no Xorg

Ola Pessoal,

Estou com problema para deixar a resolução do meu xorg para 1400x1050.
Estou usando o Ubuntu + Gnome.
No Screen Resolution do Gnome não aparece a opção para 1400x1050.
No WINDOWS, essa resolução funciona normalmente

Procurei bastante no google mas sem sucesso.

O que eu achei e vi que está certo, é que estou usando o drive correto "i810", e a sessão de Display está com 1400x1050, mas mesmo assim não aparece para eu selecionar no Gnome. Abaixo o meu xorg.conf

Como podem ver, a placa de video que estou usando é uma Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller. Ela é uma placa de video no meu notebook IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T60.

O que me deixa curioso, é que no Windows funciona normal e no Linux não, alias, na resolução 1280 tanto no Linux como no Windows, fica com a tela meio embaçada, e isso está me deixando insatisfeito.

Alguém tem alguma dica no que eu posso alterar?

Saudações Junior,
Na Section "Device", que é a da sua placa de vídeo, tente utilizar a opção

VideoRam        16384

16384 são 16 MB de vídeo, se a sua placa estiver configurada para usar mais memória é só alterar esse valor. Como vc pode ver o valor é em KBytes.
Você vê na BIOS quantos MB estão reservados para a sua placa de vídeo.

Obrigado por responder, mas mesmo assim não funcionou, a opção de 1400x1024 ainda não aparece.

Minha placa de vídeo tem 128mb (seguindo a BIOS). Configurei conforme você disse e nada.

Estou desconfiado que esse driver não suporta 1400x1024, mas pelo que eu li na net, ele é o único para minha placa de vídeo

Acho que o problema está nas frequencias do seu monitor. Veja no manual do seu monitor e acerte a HorizSync e VertRefresh.

eu nao uso essa resolução que voce quer nem testei, mas esse driver intel acho q suporta
