Alguém sabe como contornar isso ?

preciso alterar o número máximo de arquivos que podem ser abertos simultaneamente...... ulimit -a

tente usar
ulimit -u ulimited

vc tentou aumentar o valor FD_SETSIZE ? Acho que fica em
/usr/include/sys/types.h
