A saga: pptp não conecta!!

Caros colegas,

olhando o tutorial em http://www.dicas-l.com.br/dicas-l/20030710.php e tentando solucionar meu problema com pptp, instalei do http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net o pptp e estou tentando conectar mas nao consigo. Diferentemente do que esta mencionado no artigo, o arquivo options do pptp nao é o /etc/ppp/options e sim o /etc/ppp/options.pptp que tem o seguinte conteudo:

Quando dou o comando pptp 10.0.0.138, aparece a mensagem:
