Fiz os 2 procedimentos citados por vcs mas o linux pede uma senha e nem a do usuario e nem a do root passa pela autenticacao.
Alguem sabe como contornar este problema ?

Reinstala o cups e veja se a senha de root funciona. :confused:

Reinstalei e ele nao aceita logar como root ou como qualquer outro usuario.
Estou com o cupsd.conf padrao e nao sei mais o que fazer para ativar o servidor de impressao e compartilhar a impressora.
Sera que pode ser um bug do Ubuntu 6 ?
