Pq elas nao funcionam.
Nao consigo utilizar o Outlook na minha estacao.

Galera, descobri pq não funciona.
No Outlook estava colocando pop3.uol.com.br quando coloquei o Ip funcionou PQ?????

porque o seu dns não esta reslvendo nomes

Instale o bind na sua máquina aqui na underlinux tem artigos que irão lhe esclarecer sobre o bind, ou configure o seu DNS na máquina (estação ) para o d euma operadora.
Ex:
Telefônica 200.204.0.138
200.204.0.10
