Mudando o Linux p/ outra partição

Seguinte, tenho meu Linux instalado em /dev/hda6 e queria movê-lo para /dev/hda3 -- o hda3 tem mais espaço e eu queria usar a partição menor (hda6) p/ outra coisa.

A partição /dev/hda1 de 50M é montada em /boot . Uso o grub.

O que fiz:
- montei /dev/hda3 em /mnt
- copiei tudo do raiz p/ o ponto de montagem com cp -axv / /mnt/
- alterei o /mnt/etc/fstab, mudando a montagem do raiz de hda6 p/ hda3
- alterei no /boot/grub/menu.lst a opção root=/dev/hda6 correspondente p/ hda3 e executei grub-install /dev/hda.

Mas não funcionou. Dou boot, escolho a opção que foi alterada no grub, ele começa a carregar e diz que foi impossível montar a partição root. Idéias?

Posta a conf do teu grub, deve ter algum detalhezinho faltando...

Alias vc gravou o boot na MBR ou na partição mesmo?

Gravei na MBR mesmo: grub-install /dev/hda

vc alterou teu fstab tb (to sem interrogacao :P)

No arquivo /etc/fstab o / não está referenciado ao /dev/hda6 ?
Se tiver tem que mudar tambem.....

Como eu disse antes, já tentei isso...

Verifiquei todas as alterações (/etc/fstab, /boot/grub/menu.lst) mais de uma vez, e apliquei o grub-install mais de uma vez (dando boot entre cada tentativa para testar, claro) para ter certeza de que tinha feito tudo certo. Mas não funciona. Não faço idéia do que estou esquecendo.
