olá.

utilizo a distro debian e instalei o GiFT via apt-get só que quando vou iniciar o giftd ele mostra a seguinte mensagem:

[ guest@uiara:~$ giftd start

*** ERROR: Your setup is incomplete ***

You will need to run gift-setup and be sure that you read absolutely
every configuration option (no, really). Some default configuration
values are considered illegal, and will raise this error message. If you
suspect that you have configured giFT properly, consult the conf files in
/home/guest/.giFT/ for diagnostic purposes.

só que eu já executei o gift-setup e configurei, provavelmente minhas configurações estão erradas sera que alguem poderia me ajudar a arrumar ?

Caro,

Na primeira opção coloque 1 para torna ativo as configurações.
